Inhalt der Mitteilung:	Ich bin ein ehemalige P6 Eigner. (1968-1978) Ich bin aus England aber ich habe einige Jahre in Deutschland gewohnt. Ich bin 6 Monate lang mit meinem P6 in Hessen im Jahr 1976. Sonst habe ich in Deutschland deutsche Autos gefahren mit eine Ausnahme. Ich habe zwei Jahre lang einen SD1 gehabt. Diesen Wagen habe ich als Schleppwagen für mein Boot gekauft. Ich bin jetzt 10 Jahre in England zurück und fahre jetzt ein Rover 75. This is a good car and has never caused me any problems. With my SD1 I did all my own repairs and took out the gearbox to change the clutch. It had Dunlop disc brakes and I remember one cylinder seizing up. The unbalanced force on the front disc sheared it off when I braked! And changed the pads on those inboard rear discs - what a job! The universal joints on the rear half shafts used to give me trouble too. The gear lever came of in my hand when I was in Germany - it's all coming back now!! But I also had some good erotic adventure in that old car. The fully reclining front passenger seat was a big bonus. Glückige Tage !

I had the pleasure of a 3500 auto in 1989 (scarab blue) and it's still my favourite car even after several audis, bmws and mercedes. I am on the lookout for a good one now. I don't drive to work and I usually fly to travel, therefore a car is just for local hacking and shopping so I might even be brave enough to have one as my only transport. I think the word is charisma. Also quite a pratical beast even now.

Wie gut verkraften eigentlich die Schaltgetriebe das V8 Drehmoment? Wo sind die besonders aufwendigen Schwachstellen? Offensichtlich ist eine Überholung der innenliegenden hinteren Bremsscheiben /Sättel eine größere Sache. Worauf sollte/muß man sonst noch achten? Antworten (und auch Angebote) würden mich freuen! Das war nun definitiv zuviel für den weissen Rover P6 1972 mit tadellosem gepflegtem Motor und Kühler: bei weit über 30 Grad Celsius Hitze im Städtestau der kleinen Schweizer Stadt Zug kams zum Kollaps. Der Motor stellte einfach ab.... Selbst bei flotter Ueberfahrt mit zwei Personen war der Temparaturzeiger weit über dem sonstigen Durchschnitt. Der hübsche Brite liebt eben kühlere Zeiten.
